The FSD is great but at $172 each it was a gamble. Right after we got ours we did 8000 miles getting to the Pacific Ocean and back. Most any new set of shocks will feel better than the old ones.

We have a 2004 XC chassis with a brand new set of Bilsteins on it. It has 77,000+ miles on it. The OEM shocks were Sachs and I would have replaced them with the same shock if they weren't so expensive. We really liked the ride until the last year or so. The MH started wallowing and rocking when it was driven onto uneven surfaces like entering parking lots. The new Bilsteins don't wallow or rock like the old Sachs. I thought about Koni's, but remembered that a friend replaced his Bilsteins w/Koni's and the ride didn't improve. I also read the shock test in Motorhome Magazine which said that the Bilstein Shocks were the best for the money.

No in the larger and higher end chassis often there are the air springs that can soften the shock of potholes, etc but the fine control still uses the conventional fixed shocks.

The Koni FSD's improved the control/handling on our P30 chassis. The Bilsteins did have 14K miles on them and weighed about a third of the Koni FSD set so it may not be fair to compare the more expensive Koni FSD to cheaper Bilstein.

With no signs of wear or leaks and good ride quality and only 50k miles I would think they are still good.

Hi Clif, I had to change mine on my Winnebago at 8 years! Going over a speed bump or coming off a driveway I was getting to much side to side motion and porpoising. I put new Bilsteins shocks on last Fall now I get side to side one time and it stops. Good Luck too you! Rooster P.S. Roadmaster Shocks??? Are you talking about Koni FSD's?

And, with no suspension travel while not driving, how is the shock working "almost every minute of every hour"?
