Where do you dump your gray water?
Most campers I have looked at have the gray and black water tanks about the same size. In my experience camping I have never produced nearly as much black water as gray. If other people are this way...

Conserving water is your main objective. Never let the faucet run when washing hands, brushing teeth, rinsing dishes, showers, etc. We can wash three days of dishes in a 1/2 gallon of water. Then the dish water is dumped in the black tank. We don't wash dishes after every meal. We wipe them off good with damp paper towels or used napkins and store them under the sink in a dishpan. We can boondock approx. 12 days without having to dump gray. By that time, we're ready to move on.
We don't dump on the ground. We've had to set up camp on spots that have been dumped on and you can definitely tell - soft ground if recently; grease and food scraps.
We volunteer in public parks and have had to scrape the soil around campsites because of grease and food scraps. We've also had to dig down about a foot at the campground water spigots to remove the grease/hair/toothpaste-laden soil and replace it so the water drains once again. Have you ever read the signs on these spigots about no dish washing/hair washing/teeth brushing? There is a reason for the sign. Somebody has to clean up your mess. Gray water is not just soapy water.
