Where do you put your garbage can ?

What I did on my old motor home was put two 3M stick on hooks on the front of the oven door, then hang the loops of a plastic grocery bag on it. It worked, but the bag would fill right away, then we put up another. It was always a pain, but now I have a bigger rig coming and would like a better solution. What do you folks do?
  • My CC came with this.

    Garbage & recycling.

It got old real fast having to open & close drawer all the time.:(

Now it is in the drawer only when traveling.

When parked it is on opposite end of the island under the counter top.

  • As others have said, under the sink. Be creative though. It doesn't always have to be a garbage can. Wider storage containers can work too if you are not the type who wants to take out the trash daily. In other words, It's not always how tall the can is that matters.
  • We bought a two container slide out system at Lowes. It fits under the sink cabinet perfectly. The front one holds the garbage and the back one has the dog food and treats etc. It is one of our best mods to date.

  • Luckily, the guys who designed and built our trailer had, "garbage can," in mind. They left room under the kitchen sink for a tall kitchen garbage can and even included one.
  • Wastebasket in a small cabinet under the sink (grocery bag size) because that's what she did at home too. They go to the dumpster often, at least daily, as I don't like storing garbage inside; if it is just trash (clean packaging) I might use the bag until it fills. At home, it takes me 3-5 days to fill a grocery bag.

My recycle bags hang off hooks until filled, then go into nooks and crannies, ultimately to the shower for the ride home or to the recycle dropoff.

It all depends on what size garbage container you expect to fill. I don't fill a 13 gallon kitchen bag in a week with garbage or packaging I can't recycle. If I was generating something like 13 gallons of garbage a day, where I would put a kitchen-size container would have been high on my list when sizing up a RV for purchase.
