Which Dicor Lap Sealant?

Dicor 502-LSW Self Leveling Sealant. For best results, remover all the old sealant. That is not an easy job. You may need some plastic putty knives if you don't want to scratch the fiberglass. Surface needs to very clean to insure adhesion. Follow directions on the tube.

Do yourself a favor on the roof. Remove as much of the existing sealant as possible, clean the areas with acetone, then apply Eternabond tape. You will never have to fool with the roof again... at least not for many, many years.

For side seams, roof-to-sidewall seams, Geocel Proflex sealant is great. Comes in clear, white and off white.

X2. Eternabond is a one time repair. It will last a long time. Just clean the area well and use a roller to seal it properly.

I know this doesn't directly answer your question, but I agree with the others about the use of Eternabond tape. In my experience it is pretty much a one-time permanent repair. Good luck.

So are you saying to use the Eternabond then cover it with the DiCor? Or use the Dicor on the joints, let it dry and cover it with the Eternabond?

I'm getting ready to take possession of my first class A. It is an older model and the seller mentioned that "you need to reseal the roof every two or three years. There is some stuff that comes in two cans that you can use". Obviously I need more information.

Is this type of sealing something that I should do every couple of years?

Remove the old/loose Dicor and clean the surface. You can then cover directly with the Etrenabond tape for a smoother surface or if you wish, apply the Dicor and then cover with the tape after it cures. If you do reinstall the Dicor ensure the tape overlaps it fully. Hope this helps.

The 501LSW or 502LSW will work very well. It will seal the existing seal’s voids. If the existing seal has pulled away from the roof and can be removed easily, remove it. If not, use the Dicor self leveling lap sealant just to fill in any surface cracks or voids. Let the self leveling properties take over and seal the existing seal. No need to coat the entire seal – just the voids.

Prior to re-sealing, wipe the area with a cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol. The rubbing alcohol will dry any moisture and clean the surface.

Thanks! Nothing like hearing it from the manufacturer!! :-) Got a few tubes ordered, so looks like next weekend will be a fun-filled maintenance weekend!

Camping World in their wisedom discontinued Dicor for another "comparable product" they say is the same thing but much cheaper. Can't understand why they would do this other than they make more money on the new product and can sell it cheaper. Has anyone used this product and if so, does it work as well?
