The difference between a gasser fueling at 3.19/gallon and a DP fueling at 4.00/gallon over a 6,000 mile 4 month trip would come to about $100.00/month even if both got the same fuel economy...which is unlikely.
Not enough difference to even consider. The advantageous of a DP are well worth the $$$ and also considering the 1,000+ mile range of a DP to me it's a no brainer. Even the routine maintenance need to be looked at as the difference in costs since you will one one or the other. Oil change on a DP is what....perhaps $75.00 more????
