Tho u only change oil once a year or 11000 miles on the DP. I did my gasser every 3000.
I firmly believe that changing the oil every 3K miles is a complete waste of our energy resources and one of the reasons prices are so high for a barrel of oil. Just MHO of course, but then read any very critical owners manual that just loves having you come into one of their dealerships for any reason and see if any of them recommend that kind of frequency.
To each their own. I agree 3000 miles in cars is a carryover from leaded fuel days and a marketing gimmick from the oil change folks. I use the maintenance computer for our Hondas and change around 35% which s usually around 7-8K miles.
When I had gas coaches, I changed at 3-4k as I consider that extreme use eg going up steep hills at wide open throttle at near peak operating temps, extreme duty. It wasn't so much the cost I minded as itt was an extra PITA while on vacation.
I believe Workshorse recommended every 3000 miles. I might be wrong.
