Whole house pressure regulator

Does anyone have a list of the parts needed to install a whole house pressure regulator in a coach? I know Home Depot has the fittings, I just don't remember what they were.

I used to have it but it must have gotten lost.

Thank you.

If unsure, have them make it up for you, for using a short hose on the supply side (Walmart usually has these lengths) and for having a connection on the output side for your main hose. With the short hose, it's easier to hook up at the faucet and you'll still have most of it's length pressure regulated.
I also use a wye for hooking up a garden hose, if needed.
  • Thank you all for your help. There is enough information to get me going again.
  • The problem with installing a whole house pressure regulator in the coach, is that your hose is is required to withstand the high pressure. Most can not handle more than 100 PSI for very long. The site gets flooded or the hose blows up like a football. I have seen water pressure as high as 185 PSI and spikes even higher.
  • I add a high pressure, metal braid, 3-4 ft washing machine hose from the bib to the regulator. So instead of the regulator hanging from the bib and being stressed when someone trips over the hose (me) the stress is on the less expensive washing machine hose fittings.

The Regulator itself. I suggest a WATTS or ZURIN 3/4 inch with threads
A pair of hose adapters one male one female to the same thread as the regulator

Optional plumber's tape but brass to brass that's not really needed.

Optionally a short (1 foot or less) "Strain relief" hose (the ones with the spring around 'em)

But just the regulator and the hose adapters is all you really need.
  • If you're going to install a Watts regulator, they sell them at HD. Tell the HD apron what you want to do and he/she will hook you up. If they give you the deer in the headlights look, ask for a mgr. They will get you the right person and parts. That said, I attach mine to the spigot, then run a short hose whole house filter attaching with a quick coupler. From the WHF the hose runs to the water softener and on into the coach. Again with quick couplers. If you need the EXACT fittings and numbers let me know and I'll look them up for you.....Dennis
