Why do you have a class A?

Why do we own a Class A? Simple: because they're the best!. The question is why do we own a class A, not which one is the best, or the old "DP vs gas". It doesn't matter, they both have their place in the RV world. We've had the 40 Monaco Dynasty, and while a great, great coach, we now have a Ford V-10 F-53. It's not better or worse, just different and it suits our needs.
I do believe it's a little more expensive way to travel, but we're not limited to where the airlines fly. We can go anywhere we want. We bring our Jeep when we have the kids with us, and the Harleys when we don't.
The twins have their bunk beds, and ALL their stuff, dolls, games, bike's, everything.
Sometimes we'll start out for one place, change our mind, and all we have to do is turn the wheel and we can go somewhere else! Try telling an airline pilot you changed your mind and want to go somewhere else. I believe that's actually called hijacking and will land you in the pokey - don't try it.

I, and all of us, could probably write a book listing our reasons for owning a Class A, but I think if you put it in one word, that word would be - FREEDOM!

Thank you everybody for the great replies, I would also add we always know where we are going to stay for the night as the class A has everything you need to stay almost anywhere for the night.;)

I would have to say most everyone has said it all. Clean bed/bathrooms/kitchen, facilities at the ready, don't have to go outside, fur kids travel easier in it. Wife can move around or use the facilities as necessary, also when driving my truck pulling the TT I found I could drive about 3 hours without having to stretch, I can go much longer in the A.

Started in a TT, and while I did love it, both traveling and setting up are much easier with the Class A.

Own an RV for health reasons, I have a very restricted diet and have potential to need the facilities at the drop of a hat. There is a huge emotional security having those things with you at all times.

Chose a class A, mainly for handling, as opposed to a class C. As opposed to a trailer, the advantage of not having to stop to get at the food or for the family to use the facilities I saw as a big advantage.

No bed bugs/eat our own food/not having to use bathroom that was just used by 40 guys who just got out of the bus after a 10 hr run from Monterey Mexico. Being to keep our stuff safe&secure. Getting a good nights sleep&geting up and having breakfast in our own house on wheels. Just a few reasons. Joe&cheree&the dogs&cats.

Because
1. We like to take our dogs with us.
2. We enjoy the lifestyle. Step out the door into Nature.
3. We can get closer to or into things like National Parks.
4. All of our stuff is with us.
5. We have met the best friends.
6. We keep everything but our clothes in the MH so it does not take us long to get on the road.
7. Don't like hotels, though I have to use them for work.
8. Love having a condo on wheels when it gets rainy or a cold night.

My wife and I both enjoy Nascar as well as off roading.with the class A I feel we the best of both worlds.I can pull a trailer and haul or toys for the weekend and when we go to races I take a smaller trailer and take the Harley.
Over the years I have owned them All,but this past summer at Ky Speedway I became a dedicated Coach Owner.we arrived at the speedway campground in a Down pour of rain.I drove to my site parked and leveled coach ,started generator and turned Tv on .All from drivers seat.completely setup ready for the night and I didnt have to get wet.

I currently have an older coach so some attention is required,,but I just take it as part of ownership.

Also As has been mentioned,,I like my own bed and bathroom and know who and how well it was cleaned after last use

Because I know who slept in the bed last night and what they did or didn't do. I know when the sheets were washed last, because we did it. There wasn't a meth lab there last week. And I don't have to eat at Denny's, Cracker Barrel, McDonalds or anywhere else unless I want to!

Jokes aside... Where we like to hike, ATV, etc. is often not anywhere near a decent place to stay much less eat, but there is usually a decent place to stop, plug in, hook up and dump. It's all about the freedom to wander and wonder...

See several of our reasons above and a we have a few others.
1. First class a was to pull boat, class C in 90 seemed smaller for only a few dollars less
2. Wife has Lupus and can not stay in any position long so the ability to move when required is a big piece of the answer.
3. Wife's bladder vs mine! LOL see above as I agree except my stopping sooner has more to do with me needing to move and the dog needing attend to things!
4. The view, once out of the city, like having a never ending movie playing! In the city much better view of what is happening ahead!
5. When our first gran-daughter was born up in Portland OR we were able to spend 5 weeks up there, no way could have afforded that in car/hotel, were gone a total of 8 weeks.
6. take the dog wherever we go
7. Pack once no matter how long we are gone for.

That is all I can think of for now! :B

Oh and as a few stated above because that is what we wanted and works for us!
