I just got done cleaning the underside of my RV hood. It was dirty and I didnt like the way it looked so I washed it and waxed it... Cleaned everything else under there too..
Some of you guys are way too lax and sloppy regarding maintenance of your RVs.
The day before yesterday I removed the engine battery on our Class C motorhome and completely cleaned the tray it sits in. I'm sure glad that the DW didn't find out that I was "wasting my time" doing that. :S
I want to spray down the radiator too. I know road grime etc can decrease the cooling efficiency of the AC condenser and the radiator. Not sure How To do the radiator though.. Maybe a wand that I can use to spray from the inside out?
I'm one of those "nuts" too. Have always washed my engine compartment several times a year, but, got into the habit young with hotrod vehicles and my later years with Dodge Viper, Saleen Extreme and supercharged Jeep. Just like seeing any potential leaks/issues early and yes, does help upon resale. Careful around the fuse boxes but otherwise a good spraying does wonders.
why not? It's clean and so is the engine if I ever need to work on it. When you buy used do you open the hood and look?? If it's greasy and the engine is covered, pass I'll keep looking. That said I have always got top dollar when I sell and they look new. Traded on RV sight unseen and when I took it in the upped the trade $1,000 and said all we have to do is put a sign on it and put it on the lot. Last super duty I sold I was asked why is your more than most others? Come over and see, he bought the truck.
Do you have a lot of time on your hands? Did this occupy some of that time? Do you "feel" better about it? If yes in all cases, no worries, pop a cool one and relax.
