Will 32 gallons of propane last 2 weeks in this weather?

You can control how long it last by how much you use it would last me 2 to 3 months but i try to stay away from the cold

Why do you think it is going to be that cold (as in lows in the 20s at night). Run your heat pumps until it drops to the 40s and then run your electric heater(s). If the temp is going to drop into the 20s overnight, then toss an electric light into the wet bay and make sure which ever furnace that heats your wet bay is on.

I live in Ct and we have not even thought of turning on any heat yet so I see no problem.

Use a small electric heater and keep your furnace off as much as possible!

You can carry an extra tank as long as the bay is vented at the bottom. I carry one in my water bay sometimes. The hole at the bottom is about 4 inches by 4 inches so any leak (which I've never had) will go to the ground.

That's about 130 pounds, at least seven "20 pound" exchange bottles. That's a lot of LPG. It all depends on how cold it gets, how much you use the furnace, which is the highest rate user of the fuel in a RV (unless you bake a lot).

My experience, traveling in temperatures running 40-60 F daytime, 20-40 F at night, is that I have to top off my ~40 pound tank every 3-4 days. In those conditions, I don't run the furnace at all during the day, but it runs at night when stationary.

Your LPG capacity is a lot larger, your usage potentially higher depending on conditions. You could use more than 130 pounds of LPG on a two-week trip into New England at this time of year, depending on how cold it is, and how warm you want to be. You are not likely to run into freezing conditions, which would require you to burn fuel to make heat to protect the RV, so it is a matter of comfort level. That, and the what the weather is.

I've never found it to be a problem, traveling, because I use commercial RV parks (my late wife liked KOAs). In winter or marginally winter conditions, I tracked the level of LPG stored in my tanks, and when it dropped below half, I refilled. With 40 pounds, the interval could be 2-3 days, or 2-3 weeks. But I never had problems finding a place to refill, because I was choosing RV parks that provided LPG refill service. My practice has been to refill at 1/3 to 1/2 of the tank capacity.

There is no way to predict LPG usage for you, on 2 week trip. It could be almost nothing, it could be a lot, depending on the weather you encounter and how warm you need to be. If you used a lot of LPG enroute, you could likely refill when you arrive at your destination, and if need be, fill again before starting your return trip.

Carry electric space heaters and while hooked up you will knock off some if not all of the furnace load. We camped 5 days last winter in Santa Fe and it was in the teens each night and with 2 1500 watt space heaters on we never noticed our furnace running. We did bump up the tstat and run it during our showers in the early am. Seems like we set it for 65 or so at night. We did have 50 amp service. I wouldn't sweat it. HAHAHAHAHA!

You probably will not use more than about 10 gallons per week. Usually you can refill a propane tank in most cities. Unless you will be parked in the center of a dry campground, such as being at the Circus or fairgrounds and can not move the RV for 2 weeks, you will find that you can refill both the diesel and propane tanks in most every town that you visit.

I would keep the water heater hot if the temps drop below 32F out. Just my thing, I don't want the water heater to freeze and crack. If the RV is totally winterized, and you do not run any water through the lines, then you can leave the water heater off. If not full of water, you can not run the water heater or it can melt. But I have used my RV, water and all for a 2 week time at 19F overnight temps in the desert, and everything worked normally. I did not use the 18 gallon propane tank up.

In the summer, I normally use 14- 16 gallons and refill every 6 weeks while full timing. I never went to a town and was un-able to refill the propane tank.

If you're going to be on the interstates you'll have a very easy time finding propane at any truck stop. I wouldn't carry an extra tank for that reason.

However, if you do want to carry extra, we also carry a tank in the rear of our car when towing as we use it for our BBQ. That might be better than carrying it in your motorhome.

But if I were you, I'd just refill at a truck stop. Have a good trip!

It would definitely last if you were down here in Texas Hill Country.
