Window Screen Removal

I wanted to remove all my screens to clean them and couldn't get them out of the track.

They are mounted on the inside of the windows and slide to open.

I tried lifting them up, thinking there were pressure spring pads on them like a regular house screen but no luck.

Any thoughts?
  • Mine are on the pressure spring pads, as you mentioned. I was very nervous the first time I removed them. A very tight fit, just need to use more pressure. We are in a 2001 HR Imperial. Slow and steady. Good luck!
  • Try pressing up on the bottom of the upper rail and swing the bottom out of the track. It takes strong fingers.
  • Open the window, slide the screen open, lift screen up and out. Works much easier with window open.
  • On mine there is a plastic runner on he bottom of the screen. leave the screen closed and pull this plastic runner out of the track and then I can remove the screen. Yours may be the same way.
  • Thanks for the suggestions.

I will try them later on after the Trick or Treaters are gone and let you know.
  • On our '95 Coachmen, I had to slightly bow a couple of screens to get them out of the bottom track and replace them. The others were tight, but they did clear ok.
  • And the winner of the cake IS........John Wayne!!!!! There is a removable plastic strip on the bottom of the screen guide.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.
