Windshield whistling noise wont go away

The gaskets seem to shrink (the rubber gasket around the glass) and sometimes the windshield can move a bit (mine did) since it just sits in the gasket... One company the bottom channel on the windshield is a "U"" or "J" shaped so it holds the bottom better, Others it's L shaped and the windshield may tend to move down a bit exposing the upper corners or the lower corners

I wound up straping mine in with cargo straps (USE caution do not scratch the glass with teh ratchet) and sealing the openings with sealant.

I use the wide blue painters tape as it comes off easier.

Get a roll of black electrical tape, and start by putting it whereever you think the sound is coming from. May be hard to find. Older Hurricanes had a noise which got to be called the "Hurricane Whistle" that very few ever found. In most cases, it was air going in the front grill. Some got relief by adding a screen. Just to say, get a positive location before doing anything expensive.

Of course you also want to make sure that you don't have the volume turned up on your rear view camera. This can give a sound in the front of your coach that you can't figure out.

I get a howl/whistle from the left front corner on my 05 Fleetwood Expedition. It gets worse when there is a quatering headwind from the passenger side.

Doesnt do it under 60. Gets louder with speed.

A semi truck in front of me creates turbulence which disrupts it.

I have covered the weep holes, taped off gaps around the mirror, taped off windshield gaps, hood gaps.

No success.

Next Im going to fasten a tennis ball or softball to a 4' sick and hold it out the window and move it around while driving to see if I can break up the airflow and pinpoint the area.

Its frustrating.

Start with the EASY stuff FIRST. As rgatijnet1 said, your rig has weep holes at the bottom of all your SIDE windows. Normally they have small covers on those holes. They are there to drain any water that comes off the windows. You have Se-Gi windows on your rig. Over time those covers lose their grip and fly off. The small holes then cause a whistling sound...think blowing over the top of a soda bottle. A small piece of tape over the holes will tell you if that's your problem. A very cheap fix....Dennis

Then fix it right. Call some local RV dealers and see who they recommend for windshield/window repairs. Or contact a couple glass shops in your area and see if they are familiar with RV's.

Just to throw out another possibility, if the drain holes on the passenger or drivers side windows have lost their covers, it will cause a whistling noise. A piece of tape over each one will rule them out as a possible cause.

I plan on keeping the RV till one of us dies....the RV or me.
