Windshield whistling noise wont go away

Hello. I have a 1996 Monaco Dynasty and three years ago I had both windows at front replaced. Last year a whistling noise started and the man who put in the windows came and stretched the black fitting around the windows so the noise stopped. No noise all last summer until October when I took the coach out for last trip. The man who put in the windows is coming back to fix. Anyone have any ideas about how to fix this permanently? Thank you in advance.

This reminds me of a story about this guy that was having problems getting his truck windshield fixed right to keep from leaking. Took it back two or three times and nothing got fixed.

Then the last time he took in they said they couldn't do anything else...

So he goes outside and finds a hugh piece of concrete and smashes it into the windshield.

It got fixed after that.... A bit drastic I reckon but Insurance sure doesn't like you driving with a cracked windshield

I guess this is a true story...

  • Several years ago the windshield gaskets on our 96 Southwind were pulling away from the body.

I had the windshields reset at a glass shop. They told me the factory did not use enough sealant when they were installed. The techs removed the windshields, cleaned and reinstalled the original gaskets using plenty of sealant.

I still have the Southwind and have had no problems with the gaskets leaking or shrinking.

You probably need to have your guy remove the windows or windshields and reinstall using enough sealant.

Just stretching them is a temporary fix.

I paid $300 to have the windshields reset, which I thought was very reasonable for the amount of work involved.

How long are you going to keep your Monaco? ;)
