Winnebago basement A/C

We are on our first trip in our recently purchased 05 Winnebago Journey. We love this well cared for coach, and everything is performing well.
This is the first RV out of 5 that we have had that does not have dual rooftop units. It works very well, but I miss the ability to turn on just one unit so that you can reduce the airflow and distance yourself from the noise of the unit. This has a high and low speed fan switch, but even on low this thing blows like a hurricane and freezes us. Have others had this problem?
  • I know just how you feel. This is what I do to lessen the freezing effect. Say that you normally set the thermostat at 78 and let the unit cycle off and on. I will set the thermostat at 80 and let the unit run all the time. This way when the air conditioners come on, the air does freeze me and still the RV feels comfortable.
You can turn off the #2 compressor at your electric panel. Mine is at the foot of the bed. I do this to operate on 30 amps.

I don't understand the noisy issue. Is this in the bed room while sleeping?
