Yes, basement air takes away one large storage, but I have a long narrow storage compartment above my basement air. I had both basement air and roof top units I prefer basement air! I don't have to worry about tree branches or a low overpass hitting my units and what I like best is there is no wind drag (wind hitting roof air and pushing coach sideways and not dragging wind) with a basement unit which helps on fuel milage. My unit cools quicker and has less noise then my old roof top units. If I needed to work on my unit it drops right to the ground by unscrewing bolts. I know a lot of basement air units were not installed in diesel pushers because they use that space for a urea tank. I've had my basement air for 12 years now.
