Winnebago basement A/C

I know just how you feel. This is what I do to lessen the freezing effect. Say that you normally set the thermostat at 78 and let the unit cycle off and on. I will set the thermostat at 80 and let the unit run all the time. This way when the air conditioners come on, the air does freeze me and still the RV feels comfortable.
You can turn off the #2 compressor at your electric panel. Mine is at the foot of the bed. I do this to operate on 30 amps.

I don't understand the noisy issue. Is this in the bed room while sleeping?

They do move a lot of air! You can close a roof vent or two near where you are to lessen the direct cold air on you. And, like previously said, you can turn off the second compressor in your main electrical panel, but this might not make as much difference as you might think.

Both good suggestions...I love the fan running as it drowns out a noisy campground and if you have the AC on at night you won't hardly notice when the AC compressor kicks in with the fan running all the time

If yours is anything like mine there also a two speed fan. I can set the thermostat for auto, low or high speeds. I also have a separate switch that allow either one or two compressor operation.

Just to make sure prior owners with basement air felt at home in the new Winnebagos, they made sure the rooftop units are noisy as hell too :)

Never thought about turning off the circuit breaker for 2nd compressor. My MH is only 30 amp and the A/C uses nearly all of that. Does anyone think that turning off the 2nd compressor circuit breaker might have any ill effect...like overworking the 1st compressor or anything else?

If I only have 30 amps and need air condition, I don't hesitate to turn off #2 compressor.

If you use to much power the "what ever you call it" will shed the 2nd compressor all by it self so it can't be hurting anything.
