SCF Jeff, Maybe I do worry to much, After building 4 airplanes I cannot tolerate bad workmanship (no curbs up there). I didn't pay 100K for repairs after 2 trips. BTW my cheapy Fleetwood Terra 26Y never went in for warranty and went 10 years with no issues except oil and tires
Never warranty - just lost your credibility
"Just lost your credibility", hmmmm, why is that? The probability of a man made object, especially a vehicle, that it require some form of warranty repair in the warranty period, is for the most part, pretty high. There's no doubt about that. But, that's not to say that, there isn't one, or many, out there that simply WON'T BREAK.
We on here, at RV.net, really only read of issues, breakages, faults, etc. on motor homes/trailers/fifth wheels etc. from the members here. And that amount of people is miniscule in the whrelm the total amount of RVs out there. In the masses out there in RV world, surely there must be many that have never or, will never need warranty repairs done.
Yep, it's most likely pretty rare but, I'd bet it happens. So, unless I'm misinterpreting your statement, I'm not sure why you'd say he lost his credibility 'cause he didn't have any warranty work done on a previous coach, if it didn't need it.
Jeff,
My earlier statement was made in regards the fact that one, it seems kind-a odd that, Winne would "band aid" a fix by taping over old or, defective sealant/caulk and not simply state that, your sealant is old, or defective or, a bad batch or whatever and, it needs to be replaced. Yep, we all know that, sealants and caulks do dry out and or, loose grip on the surface(s) they're attached to on a somewhat frequent basis, especially if there's age involved.
But, the OP stated he picked up or, purchased his on 3-25-15 but, does not elaborate on whether or not, it was a brand new coach or not. I'd suspect that, based on logic, if it was brand new, Winne would not have sent that letter and, if they knew about a sealant/caulk problem, they'd just recall the units involved.
But, if it's a used coach, then why is he ('cause we have no other folks on here that have received the same letter and reported it on here) the only one to have received this letter?
Yep, I've done my share of digging out, scraping, heating up and removing, old caulking/sealants etc. from roof vents, leading and trailing cap edges, plumbing vents and more on the coaches we've owned, that's for sure. I still have yet to purchase any Eternabond tape.
