Aren't Bagos well known for roof issues and having to perform maintenance on them every few years? That is why I choose Fleetwood for two different motorhomes, no roofing issues with their products.
"Well known"? Well,
As I've stated plenty of times on here and other RV forums, issues, no matter what they are, or, on what type of coach, that are REPEATED on these forums, DO NOT reflect the vast majority of the same manufacture of coach. In other words, we've read of a few roof issues concerning Winnes and Itascas on here but, does that mean that ALL WINNES AND ITASCAS have in the past, presently and, in the future WILL have issues with their roofs? Of course not.
Winne and Itasca have been using that method of attaching their roof panels to the side gutter rails for quite some time now and, I suspect, are still doing it. I don't have a clue as to how many Winnes and Itascas out there roaming around the U.S. problem free on their roofs there are but, I also suspect there's way, way more problem free ones than the ones with issues. And, as for the ones that do have the issues, were/are those caused by Winne and Itasca or, by non-inspection and maintenance from the owners?
Our coach, an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the C-7 330HP CAT, lasted 11 years before any of the roof-to-gutter seam started to separate. And, it was only the first 3'-5' of each side, from the front cap. I removed all existing bad adhesive/sealer from the affected area and, cleaned all the area thoroughly and re-installed new adhesive/sealer approximately 2 years ago and, it's still perfect. Without a doubt, inspection and maintenance is the key to keeping any Winne and Itasca roof systems problem free.
