Winnebago Vista LX 30T No Dash heat or Motoraid

We have a 2018 Vista LX 30T and the dash heater does not work. Also the motoraid water heater assist does not work. I took it back to our dealer and they could not find the problem. The A/C and fan work fine. I opened the hood and looked at the heater water control valve. This valve is driven by an electric motor and I can detect vibration of the motor when the temperature control knob in the dash is turned. I also noticed that none of the hoses going to the heater control valve are very warm. I removed the dog house and found that the motoraid lines to the water heater are cold. All tests were run with the engine up to operating temperature. It looks like there is no water flow to the dash heater or the motoraid lines. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thank you,
Richard and Cathy
  • We had the same problem and went to three dealers and they found the hose behind the ref was kinked . Since then we have hot water on a two hr drive. So check all the houses to see if they are kinked.
  • I found 2 kinked hoses in the Motoraid system. One was above the engine and the other was in the sewer compartment. We made a 2 hour trek to a compground yesterday and we had heat all the way. When I get home I will shorten the hose in the sewer compartment so that it cannot kink.

    Doug I vote for 1 and 4.
  • 1. Your dealership has IDIOTS that work in service
    2. Winne has excellent Phone tech service for their dealers. They can walk them thru anything to find and pinpoint the problem
    3. Your problem may be a chassis FORD related problem. They may use the Ford Dash Heater control valve system. But, Winne tech service would be able to test and verify if it is Ford or a Winne part problem.
    4. I would not trust that dealer to do any work on my RV. Doug
  • all the hoses should get to the point of being to hot to hold on to. either a bad control valve or the system is air locked and needs to be bled to fill it up completely. its still under warranty isant it if the dealer can not figure it out they should call the factory for advice it cannot be that hard to fix. sounds like there lazy
  • All hoses are on the cool side which must be because there is no coolant flow. But I believe that the Motoraid should be independent of the dash heater and those hoses are cold. Coolant temperature looks normal at 200 degrees.
  • Do you have hot water up to the valve, then cold? Vibration may just be the motor but valve stuck.
  • Have you tried turning on your auxiliary power on the dash board? I am talking about the switch that allows you to run the radio when the ignition is off.

My 2014 30t needs this switch turned on to operate several functions...the ignition switch is supposed to work for the radio, but not anymore...have to use the auxiliary power to use the radio now, even when driving down the road.

probably not your problem, but worth a try.
