We have the rooftop Mach 8 low profile ACs and they are terrible noisy (my chief complaint on the whole rig). It's not the airflow, they are just mechanically noisy on the roof. Agree on the newer Mach 8. My coach has 3 15K Coleman heat pumps and the front unit failed last year. It was replaced with the new Coleman Mach 8 and it is louder inside and out than the older units. I believe the fan runs faster due to the unit being more low profile with smaller coils, plus it is made more cheaply than the older units. Thus, more noise.
