Winny Journey 02 HWH leveler Question

My Journey 32', 02 recently had some transmission work done and the cross bracket linking HWH cylinder mount tubes was removed to allow access to the Allison pan under which it is mounted. Can't seem to get the bracket back on as it appears the holes don't line up.

Questions;
1. The tube mounts seem to be welded to the chassis, how could they move?

2. What is this bracket for, is it necessary and why?

Any information would be appreciated, I have corresponded with both Winnebago and HWH to no avail.
  • Per HWH. Doug
    The purpose of the cross tie is if they do a lift on one side or the other the bottom of the jack doesn't bend out, it ties the jacks together forms a box if you will which makes if more difficult to bend the frame and or the jack.
  • I will find out Monday from HWH. Remember, when items are installed they are installed because THEY ARE deemed necessary. I have never had a problem remounting the cross braces on HWH jacks. I think they are there to keep each jack from having to support each side completely with twisting. You will notice HWH straight jacks pivot side to side and I believe they use the cross brace to keep the system as rigid as possible. MY best guess would be they extended the jacks without the cross brace installed and that slightly bent the mount plate for the cross brace. Should not be a big problem to jack the brace up and use a pry bar to get the alignment and bolts back in. Doug
