I guess my rig is a bit different...
I have "low point drains" ;)
I've never blown out my lines. I drain my water tank, hit the water heater bypass valves, open the low point drains, open all faucet valves.
While everything is draining, I remove the input hose from the water tank to the pump and place that in the jug of antifreeze, then start with the longest line, open it up until pink stuff comes out, and move on.
Takes about 10-15mins.
Never blown lines out in this rig or the 5th wheel before it.
So why do RV centers use the compressed air method? I think the answer is simple. It requires much less labor and it's simpler. Hook up the air, open all the valves, bypass the water heater, and let it run, while your prepping the next rig or rigs.
Does it work? Sure. Does it hurt anything? No. Is it necessary?...No.
