winterizing motorhome

I have a 2003 Four Winds 5000 28 ft. Is there an easy way to temporally winterize my coach. We're going to experience 2 days of freezing temperatures. My owner's manual states there are low point drain shutoffs at the low point. How do I locate them. Called Thor and they are on vacation until January sometime due to the weather. Thank you

Generally when you find Low Point Drains you'll find two. One for Hot, one for Cold. Dump/Drain Waste (Black, Gray) and Fresh Water tanks. Lower the shower heads (don't forget the outdoor one) so they'll drain, and open those valves.
  • When you find drains and open them, be sure to open all faucets to let air in. You should also pull HW heater drain also. Then, after water is mostly drained, run pump a short while to clear it and step on toilet water valve to let it get some air. And, as mentioned, put some RV antifreeze in all sink and bath traps. Use enough to get some in already emptied gray water tank. Add some down toilet to emptied black water tank.
  • and do not over look the water in the "toilet water valve". Should be OK to hit the flush lever after the low point drains AND all water valves have been opened. Then you must "AT LEAST" put pink stuff in all the p-traps.
  • my TT has two low point drains. one red pipe for hot and white for cold. just have screw in plugs. but at least blow air thru your system to drain all piping.
    bumpy
  • On my 2013 Four Winds 28Z the low point water drain is located on the drivers side of the coach, aft of the rear wheels toward the rear bumper. It is a white plastic valve, low on the side of the coach almost to the bottom.

    Good luck.
