Winterizing siphon kit

I'm pretty surprised after the money we paid for this new MH there isn't a winterization kit already installed. So I went to camping world yesterday and purchased a winterization siphon kit. Have any of you who have installed this experience a decrease in water pressure afterwards? As the opening in the bypass valve to the fresh water tank looks as if it can restrict the water somewhat.

My next thought because of that possibility is to attach a hose from a water pump silencing kit directly to the bottom side of the water pump after disconnecting the line to the water tank. I would then reattach the water line after winterizing the MH.

I'd rather use the valve and leave it connected if there aren't any problems as opposed to disconnecting the water line to the tank every year.

  • I have not noticed any difference in water flow but if you want to go through the motions of unhooking the pump inlet and hooking up a siphon hose that is up to you. I love the convenience.

I don't have this installed - yet. I'm debating installing it as I'm concerned about possible lower water pressure " while using the pump and fresh water tank if needed" .
  • I have had two of these and never noticed a decrease in water pressure or flow.
