You can test your temp gauge through the CLUSTER DIAGNOSTICS MENU TREE. The temp gauge will show 0% then 50% then 100% during the test.

Coolant Temperature is read from the J1850 data bus. If the data bus is not active in the vehicle, the message center will display “No J1850 Activity”.
