Wrong Pump in AZ

Not true. If he will put it in writing and has the authority to do so, it will work for me and I will be glad to see it. However, it is interesting that Zimmerman is not shown as the Director or Assistant Director for any department within the Arizona Department of Transportation. I did find his name in the total state employee directory, but no title was shown. If he is an Administrator as indicated above, he may or may not be an authority to publish anything. If/when he does publish something, we can then see what department he actually works for and if the Director for the department approves? Who knows. Been down this road before.

She said she was calling quite a few more people that had inquired asking the same question.

Alright! Now I feel that we are getting to the bottom of this and the correct answer. Mark Zimmerman said it would probably be a few days to get something in print. Would need to have a meeting or two, but it was going to be high on the priority list.

I talked to a lady from his office. Same bottom line answer but sounds like different reasoning. She wouldn't discuss passenger carrying vehicles. Also no paperwork to confirm our conversation.

It is great you got the call from the boss. Please post a copy of the email so we can all copy and carry.

I got a call from ADOT. I was told directly from the Director Office of the the fuel tax that, the Director himself had reviewed my question and tho it is not specifically written private RVs over 26k are exempt from the 26¢ use fuel tax and are to pay the 18¢ light vehicle fuel tax.
I was given many reasons basically because we have a declared weight of zero, they are private, and they are used for living in same as a home.

So we have our official answer. Unfortunately they can send nothing to reference because it is specifically not written but compiled from various sections of the statues. Mainly zero declared gross weight.

Lbligh, that's fine and apology accepted. We got hung up on semantics. I could have expressed "RV class license" more specifically in accordance to ADOT statute language.

Hopefully AZ will respond to our many requests for clarification. So far I have heard zip.
Thing is it is not so much about the 8¢, it is about wanting to comply to the law.

I apologize. Then what is an ADOT RV class license? There is no ADOT RV class license. Arizona has license classes from A-D as stated in ARS 28-3101, with class D being the class of license that most folks have to operate a car or light truck. Specifically, a class D license allows the operation of a vehicle that does NOT exceed 26,000 lbs. However, under ARS 28-3102, a class D license is approved to operate "Recreational vehicles" with ratings in excess of 26,000 lbs. Not a special license or "ADOT RV class license," simply an approved exception/exemption.

Again, I apologize if I misunderstood what was attempting to be said by Rollnhome.
