I use one for washing around motor home but keep a spare in case original leaks. Don't ever leave them hooked to pressure. Would like to get a white water hose that was at least a little flexible when cold, but haven't found one yet. Look at the ratings for the flex hose with brass ends. They aren't too good.
Buy them where you can return them if they go bad, Wal-mart, Walgreens Home Depot. If you get them on line, they will replace them, but you have to pay shipping which is more than the cost of the hose.
(The reviews for the DAP hoses has the worst ratings)
