NuWave Pro

You most likely know that NuWave is a stove top induction unit. It comes in two versions, the PIC2 and the pro version.

The PIC2 is rated at 1300 watts and the Pro at 1800 watts. I have the Pro. Some have asked about the differences in the two. Here is what I have found:

1. The PIC2 has a 9"diameter heating unit.
2. The Pro has a 9.5" diameter heating unit.

I have measured the output of the Pro version and find the following about the Pro output. The voltage was steady at about 120 volts.

Sorry about the formatting, but the forum doesn't allow for any good formatting stuff.

You will note that the Pro never reaches it's rating of 1800 watts. I have not found that to be a problem. It is very fast even making soup in a 6 quart stock pot half filled with stuff.

    No, I don't think it is an ad, although it could be a very cleverly designed one.

    As for the 1800 watt rating, the 1800 watt is probably the maximum limit the unit will draw, not the actual amount. Incidentally, a standard household outlet is wired for 15 amps. Most household appliances are designed not to draw over 15 amps, or the appliance would have to have a dedicated outlet with a special plug. Think of microwave ovens, space heaters and hair dryers. They are limited to 15 amps, or 1800 watts, each. (Amps times voltage equals wattage.)

    I agree with you re: pouncing and finding an issue,
    excepting she or he joined in 2012 and is therefore not a "new" member.

    I am truly outraged by this response! I don't care what you cook with. I was just trying to provide some information that someone would like to know.

    I'll not make that mistake again! It seems that people on RV sites are the worst I have ever seen. I have reported on many technical forums and received those comments with respect. I'll never offer anything on this forum again. I don't need you, and you have demonstrated that you don't want me. That will happen!

    Please don't get the grumps get to you. Many of us learned more about your post regarding the cooktop.
    Blame it on the terrible weather and having little to do this time of year.

    Thanks for the info. We were planning on getting but didn't know if they were worth it or not. Now we know. We will buy one for the R.V. Thanks again. keep going

    It is sad.. one minute I read people saying that these boards are not what they used to be due to fewer and fewer people posting and/or just checking in for fun... then... this.

    After a while a person gets afraid to post anything as for SOME it's just a reason to declare open season on their idea or comment.

    That makes chatting no fun........
