- pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
A real life test. I was just about to make croutons when the power went out. For fun I chose to do them using the inverter. It worked like a charm. - MrWizardModerator

he is talking about a New outlet in the TT wiring from the breaker panel to the outside of the tt, to cook with the induction cooker outside
(a 'home run' is from the circuit breaker panel, a new circuit..its electrician speak) - Johno02ExplorerIf you are going to add a new sircuit for an RV hookup, go ahead and make at lease a 30A circuit.
- TexasShadowExplorer III like mine for frying stuff outside.
- Houston_RemodelExplorerWe have 2 Nuwave cooktops. The big advantage is the ability to set the watts to 1500, 1000, or 600 as not to blow a fuse.

Why the interest in Induction cook tops? Propane cooking is very efficient and there is a reason why ALL professional stoves are gas driven.

It's nice to have options. And, I believe some of the new motor homes are all electric.
Apparently some just don't like propane. - brulazExplorerAnother Con would be the noise. Our Duxtop induction cooktop can also run with our 1000W inverter at heat level 3 (700W) and below. But it runs a fan all the time to keep the internals cool.
Another con specific to the Duxtop, is that the plastic control surface is flush with the glass top. If you pull a hot pot onto the plastic it will melt, although there is a protective cover. But ours is still operational despite being scarred.
We also have a 900W full immersion 1L electric water kettle. It's quieter than the Duxtop when just heating water. Both are very efficient electrical heaters for use when boondocking.
Like others, we use ours more when it's hot, and when boondocking and there's lots of solar. - edatlantaExplorer

Pros:
Less heat inside RV
Faster than propane
Instant heat and temp change
Constant even heat
Cons:
Requires a pretty good electrical load, but only when actually running and the heat setting.
I have one and I have never used my propane stove since I got it. - rjsurferExplorerWhy the interest in Induction cook tops? Propane cooking is very efficient and there is a reason why ALL professional stoves are gas driven.
