NuWave Induction Cooktop

I know lots of folks have been discussing this. I just wanted to post that HSN shopping network is selling it for $80 with DVD/Recipe cards and FREE shipping. Item #: 302-734. Note: this offer does NOT include the pan.
Bed Bath & Beyond sells the Nuwave 2 for $100. It DOES come with the skillet. Use the 20% coupon and it brings it down to $80.
This is just a FYI post. If you are not interested, fine.
  • BBB on my list of places to visit when we are close to one next week. Definitely going to check out the NuWave! And I'll make sure I have my coupons with me!

    Thanks for the heads up!

We have two of them and we use them all the time now instead of the stove. No heat in kitchen and the unit is relatively cool, only heating up a bit from the pot or pan used. When the time comes we will replace conventional stove with induction stove.

We also have 2, one in the RV and of course the other at home.
    Pros:
    Very quick to heat up.
    Good temperature control
    Clean
    No residual heat.

    Cons:
    Heating surface is small, 9"
You have to have compatible cookware, our CI skillets work great, but we had only one pot that would work.
We can't use ours under the hood without an extension cord. Short heavy duty extensions are another cost.

That's my opinion after about 6 months of daily use. We use ours primarily for breakfast and the one pot meals. I also disagree about the heat factor, heat is heat no matter what device it comes from.
The 9" surface can cause some problems because unlike a normal heating source where the heat tends to flow out and around the pan, this one creates the heat in the pan. This can leave the edges of bigger skillets unable to fry edge to edge.

  • Camping World also has a Fagor one on sale for $89.99 not a NuWave but has good reviews. It includes a skillet and free shipping if GS member. Think that wattage is 1800 so might be slightly higher than NuWave,
  • check the 20% off coupon since some items are exempt from it.
