Before I built our barn I parked on the dirt alongside the garage...worked OK but with some rain it got a bit soft so I built two pads using railroad ties. Each pad has 6ea 9' long ties spaced 4" apart and just back filled with native dirt. Add a bit of water, let dry and they are perfect.
One downside of parking on the dirt only is that jacks punch post holes aside from that no real issues.
Now with the barn, I have great guest parking including 50A service.
