It is easy to say just eat less and exercise more, but that is simply not possible for a food addict without some help.
I can't imagine what it would be like to weigh 500, 400 or even 300lb and trying to exercise.
One pound of body fat is equal to 3500 calories. MyFitnessPal will figure the calories you need to maintain your current weight according to your height, sex, and age. To lose one pound per week, you need to eat 500 fewer calories every day.
At 6' 1",and 305 lbs. exercise was no problem. Weighing that much fourteen months ago was. The nutritionist at the local "Y" told me that exercise was only 25% of weight loss while diet was 75%. I spent most of last summer not able to exercise due to four hospital stays and problems that led to a fifth back surgery. I still lost weight by sticking to MyFitnessPal.com. After my surgery in August and PT in September, I was back to riding my bike, and this week hit 225 on the scales.
Yes, it is a lifestyle change -- just don't eat more calories than you need. MyFitnessPal lays it all out for you. Eat what you always eat -- just stop when you hit your calories for the day. And, you don't have to buy a thing.
