beer bread recipes??

Well Shortie3 I baked them like you said but after being in the oven, then the microwave, they were hard enough that I killed the neighbors dog with one. Talk about hardpan, they will last til next century.
Blue Moon or Adams are good, Use it warm.

Just got back from the store, bought 8 different types of beer.....I'll let you know if I start baking anytime soon.

I've wondered about trying different types of beer, but so far the most experimental I've tryed was Blue Moon Blueberry Lager. The scent of blueberrys transfered to the bread but there was no taste. I was thinking of using a shandy next to see if the lemon taste transfers.... stay tuned.

I haven't noticed a big kick from beers I've used. I've used dark domestic for the most part and as I posted, lemon/lime soda for a breakfast bread.
I think the biggest kick for RV'ers is the combination of acid and baking soda to produce a simple, but very good, bread without relying on the local grocery.
This is a simple quick bread, something probably common to most of us older members and very common to are ancestors.

What kind of beer is everyone using? Good ole American style lager? I'm thinking taste would change based on what you used. Maybe try some micro brew ales or stouts?

In case you don't have self rising flour you can use the following:

3 cups flour
3 T sugar
1 1/2 T baking powder
12 oz. bottle beer

Sift dry ingredients - add beer & stir well. Put in greased loaf pan. Bake 45 min. at 350 then 15 min at 400 or microwave 10 min. at 50% power, then 4 minutes at 100% power.

The recipe came from my MIL who loved it, but no matter how many times I made it, I still didn't care for the texture.

I've made it with soda. Just replace the beer with a lemon lime soda and throw in some raisins and a little cinnamon.

Canned should work just as long as they are not pickled. 1/4 cup would get it "warm."

Why not pickled? Those are the best ones, and the warmest. Not hot but pretty spicy.

Not bread, but these are good in a pinch. 3 cups Bisquick and 1 can beer. Bake in muffin pan at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. (makes 12)
you can add a bit of sugar or 1 tsp dill or shredded cheese.
