Here we were in WA & I picked up the mixed frozen berries & put them in the basket. DW always has last word which was. "No, we don't over pay for organic". So back in the Costco freezer case. So yesterday DW reminded me insecticide kills bugs.
I don't mind paying a bit extra for organic, especially for the "dirty dozen". I don't consider it overpaying. Chemical pesticides and fertilizers yield more produce, and organic methods while eliminating the chemicals, sacrifices a bit. For me, it's an acceptable trade off. It's not overpaying or overpriced, just market value. Sort of like, you can buy cheaper stuff from foreign manufacturers with different economic factors, or you can buy local from people operating under different market forces than the manufscturers of the cheaper stuff. The end products can turn out to be very different in terms of quality and safety.
Hep A usually comes directly from an infected person so it will be interesting to see how this filters out.
