Biscuits

So I have a question. Hubby loves Biscuits and Gravy but we don't have an oven. Can you fry biscuits in a cast iron skillet? I know you can buy them already made, but we really don't like them.
  • If your rig has a microwave, it is likely a convection microwave, which has both the microwave and a conventional heating element and will function as a conventional oven too. I love biscuits ‘n’ gravy for breakfast, too. I buy a bag of frozen biscuits, and make them as I need them in the convection microwave in our RV. The bag calls for 20 minutes at 400, but rather than preheating the oven, I just throw the frozen pucks in and set the oven for 24 minutes. Perfect biscuits every time.
  • Cast iron Dutch oven with a lid and a rack on the stove.

This may be a stupid question but I have to ask.
Do you have a convection microwave?
  • I don’t think you get the same rise on fried biscuits but you could create your own oven. I put a small rack in a deep pan. A tile or foil on the rack gets the biscuits off the bottom.
