Here is a blast from the past... ("go the distance").
CHICORY !
Dad used it... was cheaper then coffee back in the day...
can play around with coffee to chicory ratio (2:1 , 3:1),
or drink it straight.(mas macho !).
Chicory was a staple camping with my Dad (think Hemingway/
Ted Williams/Curt Gowdy/Marlin Perkins)...smells good too.
It is how I learned to drink a hot morning beverage...in the era
before Bailey's Irish whiskey.
