I guess that I should have mentioned, we have a van, and are very limited on space so having a Q and a stove is out of the question and while that Road Trip looks great, we don't have room for it either. In fact, the smaller the better.
Space is always a something for us to wrangle with since our soon to come RV is small and we have neither garage or attic at home (apt dwellers). How I cook whilst camping has evolved over the years and of late I've found myself leaving the white gas Coleman stove at home and occasionally the charcoal Weber Go Anywhere too, in favour of this multi-purpose tool. We use it to make a campfire and cook on, either directly, or indirectly, w/ a grill:

Thanks for reminding me that it's time to see if Snow Peak has the bridge back in stock
https://snowpeak.com/collections/fireplace-grills/products/fireplace-grill-bridge-l-st-032gb?variant=671153053I just use a piece of stone tile at the base and until recently used a Weber adjustable grill top but threw the grill top away since it rusted out (despise when poor planning requires last minute purchases that require a waste o' money).
I like the bridge since I can adjust how close it is to the charcoals or wood. I use a disposable heavy duty aluminum pan to throw my embers away as needed (generally isn't until last day since it keeps a fire going nicely) since although the fire pit is small enough for one person to carry it's hard due to the fact that the unit uses gravity to stand up and has no locking pin.
