can cooker users - anyone, anyone?

Been looking at the " can cooker " s being sold at Cabela's and other places. I've found lots of recipes that sound really but don't want end up with ANOTHER really great gadget taking up space and not being used. Looking for recommendations and/or comments about the can cooker. Do they do a better job than the easy to buy, store, and dispose of aluminum foil?

  • I have never seen one in person. Read the description on Amazon. I'm not quite sure, other than volume how a can cooker is better/different than a pressure cooker. I'll be anxious to hear other poster's experiences.
  • The only "can cooker" method I know about is the one by which you cover an unopened can of whatever with water and bring it to a boil. Let 'er simmer for a few minutes, always making sure the can stays covered with water. Them remove from heat, open the can, and voila! whatever's in the can is hot. No muss, fuss, or pans to wash.

Is there something different out there now?
