Kicking around the idea. I too am a novice, but what better way to get your feet wet.

I looked at some of the videos, and the stuff they are cooking looks like it came from a 5 star restaurant. The ingredients are a little pricey for me,too. If I enter, it would have to be with tasty homey kinds of food.

I can bake some tasty, good looking, artisanal bread, though.

They will be having other cook-offs, just for the fun of it, so you should register and be a part of that.

The camping area, nearest the action, is already being reserved. We have our spot already, because those ovens are heavy to carry around.

Definitely get your reservations early. Bread takes skill in a DO; your artisanal bread would definitely be a contender. Garlic cloves in the dough would kick it up to the next level I would think.

Ray, do you plan to enter IDOS competition?

Negative. I'm still a novice. I'm going to learn from the masters. Are you?
  • Thanks for the info and the link. A class sound real interesting.

    Thanks again.
  • Well done, swtgran! I think you'll enjoy the fellowship as well as the food!

I'm glad they're having it in a more central location. We're planning on being there.

I KNOW you'll enjoy it, Ray. Be sure to make your famous SOS :w
  • Made reservations at the campground. Have our registration ready to go. Sounds like a lot of fun. I have never been to a cook-off.
