Cookware Research

I'm looking into replacing all my misc. cookware with a nesting type system. I want to pick something that would meet any changes we make in the future. Currently we have the traditional gas oven/stovetop, and regular microwave. I want something that will work with gas, induction and convection. I know that the Magma nesting system like this will work with the gas and induction, but does anyone know if it would work with a convection oven? Obviously for some applications I would have to remove the handle.

That was from a Google search, but mine looks just like that. Thanks!

+1 on cast iron. Nests nicely, can use in oven or on the campfire.

    Great looking set!
  • Yes I do. We have their new non-stick. It works very well. I also got their steamer insert and it does very well for lobster, etc.

    Good Luch!

I was going to go with the stainless steel. I haven't had as much luck with nonsticks. Do you have a Magma set?

  • Most cookware is rated for max temps in ovens. If it works in a regular oven it will work in a convection oven.
  • We use cast iron at home and in the RV. It will work on any cooktop including induction and over the campfire too. The various pieces will nest nicely.

If you want something lighter in weight, Revere Ware is an inexpensive alternative in stainless steel (so no chemical leaching into food). We found a few pieces at yard sales.

Estate sales are also a good source of complete cookware sets.
