Try adding something called Kitchen Bouquet to your roast recipe some time...don't know what it is, but from Granny on down my family has always used it. It's like magic to the flavor...you can find it in a little bottle in your grocery store by the spices.

I typically like to use veggies to season my roast. I don't brown. I rub the roast with Kitchen Bouquet, chop onions, mushroom, garlic, celery, carrots and potatos, add salt pepper and water. That's it...it's always great! I pack it full with as much veggies as I can get...my favorite meal...damn now I'm hungry :)
