Getting the concept of how much charckol to put on to get the right temp was my biggest problem. So I cheated and sprung for a cheap infrared temp gun. Works good on temp of DO and works great on checking tires on RV. How's that for combining a couple of things into one tool? Oh also makes good lazer gun for playing tag with cat. What could possibility be wrong with one toy that covers 3 things? Other thing was I was surprised how much room all the DO stuff took up.

Great idea, the temp gun. Re the amount of space, mine takes up very little. You'll learn quickly enough how to make space more efficiently for it by learning what you don't need and what will multi-task.
