For Those Of You....

I cook an awful lot of stuff directly on my pampered chef stone without a pan or pyrex. When the food is in a pan, it just sits on top the stone. I know some put it directly on the bottom of the oven but the one time I traveled like that it scratched the enamel so I don't place the stone there anymore.

While that is true, they aren't that common in casserole size with lids.

With a tile that covers the bottom of the oven between the vents you can use whatever you like.

Preaching to the choir.. love my oven. Enjoy a good oven-baked potato now and then. Cookies, cakes.. no problem.

There's no use in spending a lot for a pizza stone unless you need the stone specifically. A 12'X12" clay tile from a home repair/remodel store will suffice.
Two reason to use them, one is that you can often find a chipped tile that you can buy cheap, and the second and most important is that if you forget to remove it when you travel, and it breaks, it's still does its job.
Mine broke, and no I didn't forget it, I could have but I didn't, instead mine oven shelf popped when it heated and broke the tile in half. It still works, I just put it back together when I go to use the oven, I don't have to remove it because I don't care if it breaks.

We wouldn't buy a RV without an oven.

Find a tile shop and just have them trim your pizza stone.

I would not have an RV without an oven. I use ours on a regular basis, everything from warming up the dinner roles to 5 pounds of Prime Rib. Never understood why folks seem to shy away from using them. :h
