Tube meat may be ok but they do have tracking numbers. I'm sure a lot of people eat it. I just wanted whatI want. Fresh piece of chuck ground to suit me. A piece of meat I knew wasn't ground up udders and who knows what. The "Butcher" assured me it was good stuff. They had ground chuck, in the tube seperate from labeld ground beef.
I wanted what i waas reasonably sure was not too old good color, and texture chuck roast ground 3/4 coarse for me for hamburgers.
The taste is simply great. Ground Sirloin is good too.
Told wife, we are getting a new grinder. If not we'll use that century old hand crank job. Thinking about mixing in excellent real smoked thick bacon, in some of it and trying that for a burger.
We have a relative that raises cattle. Fresh flowing water, with the trough cleaned daily, clean grass and no mud wallows. Finished with corn. No chemicals of any sort.
We bought a box of ground beef hamburger patties one time probably ten years ago. There were big pieces of what looked like white eye tissue or
membrane, bits of black, and bits of bone. We took it back of course.
