Grape salad

I made this today for a picnic. It's worth a bump but the six year old thread is closed. I used lite sour cream and cream cheese. Just to be different I added a drop of grape extract. OP is April Showers.

2 lbs red seedless grapes
2 lbs green seedless grapes
Wash and dry completely

1 8oz. pkg. cream cheese at room temp.
1 8oz sour cream
½ C. Sugar
1tsp. vanilla
Mix all together in a deep bowl with a mixer

Pour over the grapes and gently toss to coat

½ C. chopped pecans
½ C. brown sugar
Sprinkle over salad just before serving.

Very refreshing summer salad.

This sounds great! Would you suggest cutting the grapes in half? How many do you think this would feed? I like the idea of fat/low fat on both the cream cheese and sour cream. Toast pecans? Marsha

    No, it would get runny.
And I've used pecans before. Sometimes I replace part of the nuts with rolled oats and cinnamon. Coconut flakes is good in the topping, too.

Four lbs is a lot of grapes, it depends on how much people take, I guess. It makes a fairly large bowl.

I don't see why not. If the yogurt is sweetened, I'd reduce the sugar. If its plain yogurt, you might need to increase the sugar.

  • I just love that grape salad, have to half it for just the 2 of and it's still a lot. Worth it tho, it's really good!
  • I LOVE grape salad, but this is a great way to eat grapes and kids will absolutely LOVE it.

2 - 3 lbs assorted seedless grapes, white and red
1 pkg regular cherry jello mix

Remove grapes from stems and wash. Let drain for a few minutes, then place in a large plastic container with a lid. Sprinkle jello powder over grapes, close lid and shake. Place in refrigerator for at least one hour and they are ready to eat.
  • My sister made this for Sunday dinner recently....was very tasty !!!
