I have read that to get the most benefit from Flax Seeds, they should be ground in small quantities and kept in the refrigerator. I used to do this until the Braun Coffee Grinder I was using to grind flax seeds quit working. I did not use it for coffee but found it worked great for the flax seeds. I am suspicious that the oil from the flax seeds gummed up the mechanism and it stopped working and has gone to the garbage. What should I replace it with?
I have tried using my mini food processor and it does not do a very good job.
Any suggestions? A pestel and mortar seems "out of date".
If you're using the flax seeds for dietary fiber in addition to the oil nutrition, I would go with another coffee grinder that allows you to wash out the oils periodically. Some of the handheld nonelectric ones seem to be an option.
