How to prevent food sticking on Weber Q1000 grill?

Have had the 2400Q for two years.
Have not had a big issue with sticking.
Spray with a vegetable oil spray form time or time.
Plus do not clean extensively. Just a brush from time to tome.
Oh and the brush does not get cleaned.
Been doing this for over 45 years thru , charcole, gas, and now electric.. Good luck
PS. Thinking of getting the "Gladstone".
