I am on a mission!!! I need a can opener that WORKS

I've got a drawer full of can openers that do not work. Last month, hubby took the only one that worked to a picnic and came home with one the same color but that didn't work at all. Today I went to the store and got number 4 and it didn't work either.
If you have an amazing can opener that really works will you run in and look and see if there is a name on it as tomorrow my mission is to buy a can opener that is worthy of the name.
(And if you come up with 3 different brands I'm going to buy all 3 and see which one works best.)
And if you suggest that one that cuts and doesn't leave a sharp edge, no thank you, I have one of those also and it takes me forever to get the angle right so it will catch.
And no electric either, looking for a hand one.
Thanks in advance.

I have an OXO-Good-Grips-Can-Opener made for people with arthritis or other hand gripping issues - it has a large turning handle. It's worked well for many years. I think you can find them at Amazon (of course!), and Bed Bath & Beyond stores for about $14
+1 for OXO, good handles, good working.
  • LOL, I break a can opener about every 3rd time I use it. I bought so many that finally hubby noticed and got in on the selection process. Calphalon makes a rubber handled but otherwise all metal can opener. Looks like an old fashioned one. I've had this one for six months. I think I can recommend it to you.

  • One of my few dislikes....a can opener!

Kitchen Aid.....we finally found one worthy of a spot in our kitchen .The handles are a good size with good grips. I have osteoarthritis in my hands and I can hold this one well. We have one in the house, TT, boat and I bought my kids one each I like it that much.

Good luck...if you can't find one you like I will happily buy you one and send it to you.
