NYC,
The skewers we have are metal that came in a 'Que kit for the grill. But who know what our boys may try to use those for, spear fishing maybe!?!?!? Lol
Bob,
I plan on registering the new WSM, probably this evening when I get a chance. I have heard very good things about Weber standing behind their warranty.
Heck, it was 3 or 4 years ago I got the 18" WSM, then last year the Genesis S330, then just this past June the Q220, now the 14" WSM!!!! Yep, I may have a Weber Problem!!!! Lol
Service Merchandise.... Wow, that's a store I haven't heard someone speak of in a long time!!!
I guess I have a Weber problem too. I've got 2 Q120's a Q330(?), and I gave my Silver to my daughter, and my previous Weber to my son. I liked my smaller Q's so much I gave my daughter my Silver, and now I'm thinking the bigger Q's aren't as good of quality as the smaller one or the Silver. The grates burned out within warranty and now the burners are shot and the igniter quit working.
Service Merchandise gives you an idea how old my Silver is/was. I had it for almost 11 years and the grill box burned-out, and it turns-out it was warrantied for 12, and they sent me a new box. It was like a new grill when I gave it to my daughter.
SM has been out of business every bit of 15yrs if I had to guess off the top of my head, maybe more??? Will have to do a search to see how close I am.
I just looked it up, they closed early 2002, so just over 14yrs ago...
Interesting to hear that about the Q's. Could you have just bought a lemon by chance? Hopefully the new parts last longer. I haven't had my Q near long enough to find out how it will last long term. Only time will tell.
