We actually gave away all our Coleman campstove equipment, propane tanks, propane pole, light, hoses, .... everything, this last Summer.
If we do not fix something on the stove, microwave, or oven, we now use an electric flat griddle and/or an electric skillet.
I actually went to a yard sale and purchased a non-working electric skillet, just for the lid, so it would fit on top of the flat griddle.
It's not the same as cooking over a "flame", but it sure is cleaner, and the food is always cooked at a steady temperature.
We purchased the griddle (actually, our 3rd one now), from Wall Mart for $19.95 (I think). Not that much at all.
The griddle is perfect for pancakes, eggs, hash browns. It works wonderful for any kind of steak, beef or pork. I always cook with margarine ... lots of it, and add nothing else to the meet. The margarine drips into the drip pan, and then I can pour it back over the meet (basting the meet constantly). When it's done cooking, it's fabulous!
It's just something to re-consider as opposed to a "flame". And clean-up ... just wipe with a paper towel to get the heavy grease off, and then wash-up with Dawn Dishwashing liquid.
We use one in the house all the time now too... very seldom use the stove!
